Department of Statistics:
Statistics is an application-oriented subject giving importance to theoretical and practical aspects also. It has wide range of applications in various fields like Agriculture, Actuarial sciences, Astronomy, Commerce and Business, Economics, Biological sciences, Psychology, Social sciences and humanities etc. The aim of the department is to inculcate knowledge and real-life applications in statistics, which enhances analyzing skills in the students. They will develop scientific investigation of problems in various disciplines.
The undergraduates who come out with Statistics as specialization can take up the courses for their Post- Graduation level in M.Sc. - Statistics, Applied Statistics, Statistical Quality Control & Operations Research (SQC & OR), and Actuarial Science and Data science.
